Children MUST get vaccinated prior to care (should they be eligible). In respect to Covid-19, we will prioritize children whom are vaccinated although, we will consider taking in unvaccinated children on a case by case basis.

Mandatory vaccines your child is required to get once eligible are:

• Diphtheria, Tetanus, pertussis, polio, haemophilus influenzae type b (DTaP-IPV-Hib)

• Pneumococcal (Pneu-C-13)

• Rotavirus (Rot-1)

• Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)

• Meningococcal (Men-C-C)

• Varicella (Var)

• Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis, Polio (Tdap-IPV)

• Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (MMRV)

• Any other vaccine that gets developed for children between the ages of new born and 4 years old.

Optional Vaccines: 

• Influenza (Inf) aka Yearly Flu shot.

• Covid-19:

Children 6 months to 4 years of age may be offered an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine for the primary series. It’s recommended that doses be at least 8 weeks apart. Moderna Spikevax is approved as a 2-dose primary series for children 6 months to 5 years of age. A 3-dose primary series of the Moderna Spikevax vaccine is preferred, with an interval of 4 to 8 weeks between each dose. If Moderna Spikevax is unavailable, a 3-dose series of the Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty vaccine may be offered. The recommended interval is 4 to 8 weeks between each dose.

 

Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty is approved as a 3-dose primary series for children 6 months to 4 years of age.

Before beginning or continuing the primary vaccine series, it’s recommended that children 6 months to 5 years of age wait 8 weeks after: a positive COVID-19 test or the start of COVID-19 symptoms​​​

The day of receiving vaccines:

• Child is required to remain at home after getting the vaccine(s)

All children are required to have their immunizations up to date.
We require a copy of your child's immunization records before your child can start care, and every-time they get a new vaccine.

Failure to get your child vaccinated with mandatory vaccines

• If you choose not to get your child vaccinated after your child has started care, hand in your termination notice as per the daycare's termination policy. The provider will honour your termination notice if no other policies are breached before or during the notice period.  

 

• Failure to hand in your termination notice if you choose not to get your child vaccinated will result in termination of your childcare contracts. You will be in breach of contract and no fees will be reimbursed. Termination can be done immediately or with a notice period depending on the circumstances.

• Once eligible, all children will be granted approximately four months to become fully vaccinated

Since a home daycare is located within a private home it is 100% legal within Canada for a provider to refuse enrolment due to a child's vaccine statue.
